Guaranteed Accumulation Explained

Assuming an initial investment of $100,000, your premium accumulation value (assuming no withdrawals) would grow to $162,889 at the end of 10 years if the net investment return was negative throughout. Your premium accumulation value is the sum of premiums paid plus interest at the premium accumulation rate compounded annually for the premium accumulation period. The premium accumulation value is not the same as your accumulation value, so it cannot be withdrawn and is not payable as a death benefit. The following hypothetical table is intended to show the effect of a 5% annual premium accumulation rate on your premium accumulation value over 10 years. It is not intended to predict or project investment results. The accumulation value and surrender value assume maximum charges. Actual results may vary.

End of Policy Year Gross Annual Return Net Annual Return Accumulation Value Surrender Value Premium Accumulation Value
1 0.00% -2.30% $ 95,725 $ 87,725 $ 105,000
2 0.00% -2.30% $ 91,450 $ 84,181 $ 110,250
3 0.00% -2.30% $ 87,169 $ 79,866 $ 115,763
4 0.00% -2.30% $ 82,878 $ 76,458 $ 121,551
5 0.00% -2.30% $ 78,571 $ 73,042 $ 127,628
6 0.00% -2.30% $ 74,243 $ 69,614 $ 134,010
7 0.00% -2.30% $ 69,889 $ 66,168 $ 140,710
8 0.00% -2.30% $ 65,502 $ 65,502 $ 147,746
9 0.00% -2.30% $ 61,078 $ 61,078 $ 155,133
10 0.00% -2.30% $ 56,609 $ 56,609 $ 162,889

The -2.30% net annual return is equal to the 0% gross annual return minus the sum of the maximum mortality and expense risk charge (1.00%), maximum administrative expense charge (0.35%) and average fund expense assuming the VM Growth Model (0.95%). All charges are expressed as a percentage of accumulation value.

The accumulation value and surrender value also include the maximum Waypoint Income Rider charge for the single life option (2.00% of rider charge base.)

This calculator is based on a guaranteed 5.00% annually compounded premium accumulation rate (0% in policy years in which a withdrawal is taken) and distribution factors that vary by retirement age and rider option. Refer to your client brochure for specific information.
